Alfonso XIII (Alfonso León Fernando MarÃa Jaime Isidro Pascual Antonio de Borbón y Austria-Lorena; 17 May 1886 – 28 February 1941) was King of Spain from 1886 (at birth) until 1931. The Malaspina circumnavigation expedition is an interdisciplinary research project whose overall goals are to assess the impact of global change on the oceans and explore their biodiversity.
